Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport Opens new $92 Million Terminal Free of Debt
Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport opened the doors to its new terminal Wednesday morning, sending its inaugural flight to Seattle and back before noon. The 47,000-square-foot facility sits just down the road from the old terminal, which is only a fraction of its size. The project involved more than the terminal; developers spent the last two years building the new $92 million facility, but it took seven years to plan and adjust the runway.

New Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport Terminal Features Expanded TSA Screening Checkpoint
PULLMAN - The new Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport Terminal features several upgrades from the old facility including a larger and brighter security checkpoint. The TSA screened the first passengers in the new terminal for the facility’s inaugural departing flight on Wednesday morning. The new screening checkpoint has one lane with space for a second. The larger screening area allows for more room for people in line. There is also a dedicated TSA PreCheck entrance and a podium to verify identifications. The checkpoint at the new terminal includes a bottle liquid scanner, explosive detection screening, checked baggage screening, a body scanner and a metal detector.

Pullman Regional Hospital Board Hires Contractor To Remodel Old Bank Building Into Offices
PULLMAN - The Pullman Regional Hospital Board has approved a contract to remodel the old Umpqua/Columbia Bank building into an office building. The hospital board bought the property on Bishop Boulevard last year for 2.5 million dollars. the initial estimate for remodeling the building for offices was half a million dollars. All four contractor bids for the work came in over budget. The PRH Board held a special meeting on Wednesday morning to award the contract. The commissioners hired Mangum Construction in Clarkston which submitted the low bid of 625,000 dollars. Officials told the board that the project ran over budget because of unexpected work involving the fire alarm, elevator and HVAC system.
City Of Pullman Elected Officials Salaries Will Remain The Same For Next Two Years
PULLMAN - Salaries for the City of Pullman’s elected officials will stay the same for the next two years. The city’s salary commission met on Wednesday morning to set the salary for city council and mayor for fiscal years 2025 and 2026. Man Arrested for Alleged Kidnapping Attempt in Coeur d'Alene
COEUR D'ALENE – A man is in custody following an alleged attempted kidnapping at the St. Vincent De Paul HELP Center in Coeur d'Alene Tuesday evening. At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department responded to a call regarding the incident. Richard Swigart was in his vehicle with his daughter in the parking lot when they were approached by a man identified as Peter Cahoon. Cahoon began asking questions that made Swigart uneasy. Suddenly, Cahoon allegedly attempted to pull the girl out of the car through an open window. Swigart backed the car up, prompting Cahoon to jump on the hood and try to open the girl's door again. After sliding off the hood, Cahoon continued his attempts to get into the car. Swigart then drove forward and called 911, while Cahoon walked away.

Idaho gas Prices Just Below Last Year's Average as Holiday Weekend Approaches
BOISE – As 262,000 Idahoans prepare for a trip over Memorial Day weekend, gas prices will be very close to where they were a year ago. According to AAA, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.80, which is four cents less than a week ago and 13 cents less than a month ago, and just four cents more than a year ago. Meanwhile, the national average currently sits at $3.61 per gallon, which is the same as a week ago, seven cents less than a month ago, and seven cents more than a year ago.
LCSC Announces Spring Semester Honor Roll
LEWISTON - A total of 836 students made Lewis-Clark State College’s honor roll for the 2024 spring semester, college officials have announced. To qualify for the President's List students must have a 3.75 grade point average or higher for the semester and take at least 12 graded credits in 100 level classes or above. The Dean's List uses the same requirements but students must have a GPA between 3.25 and 3.749. Pass/fail classes do not count as graded credits.
