Summer Chinook Seasons to Start June 20 for Upper Salmon and Lochsa Rivers
BOISE - The Idaho Department of Fish and Game says summer Chinook salmon seasons have been approved for the Upper Salmon and Lochsa rivers. The seasons will open Thursday, June 20 and remain open four days per week (Thursday-Sunday) on the Upper Salmon River and seven days per week on the Lochsa River until harvest goals are achieved or August 10, whichever comes first.

The change, which took effect June 6, could encourage more people to get medical cards. Opponents say the incentive could potentially depress revenues from the cannabis tax, which brought in more than $470 million in fiscal year 2023, according to the Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board.
