Man Convicted in ‘Net Nanny’ Sting Gets 80-month Prison Sentence
A Moses Lake man was given 80 months in prison for second-degree attempted child rape during his sentencing hearing in Kittitas County Superior Court. William Harding Hare, 42, was arrested as part of a “net nanny” undercover police sting earlier this year. Police created an online profile of a 13-year-old girl, and a sheriff deputy posed as the fictitious teenager on the dating/messaging app called “MeetMe.” Hare started texting the teen and the messages soon turned to sex, according to court documents.

CLARKSTON - The Washington State Patrol is investigating after an early morning collision on Highway 129/Riverside Drive south of Clarkston. According to police, the driver of a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on the highway, near the intersection of Critchfield Road, just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday. ELK RIVER - The Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury crash that occurred on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 1:00 AM, 7 miles west of Elk River. A 2020 Polaris General UTV driven by a 26-year-old male from Lewiston, ID, and his passenger, a 55-year-old male from Juliaetta, were traveling westbound on Highway 8 near milepost 46 when the vehicle struck a deer. Fire Destroys Rosalia Area Home
ROSALIA - A Rosalia area home was destroyed by fire on Friday. Whitman County Fire District 7 Volunteers were called to the blaze off U.S. Highway 195 near the rest area. According to the volunteer fire department’s Facebook page, the residents made it out safely. The Red Cross was called in to help the people who lost their home. District 10 Volunteers out of Oakesdale, D11 Volunteers from Steptoe and Diamond, and City of Colfax firefighters were called in to assist.
Construction on Lewiston's 21st Street to Begin Next Phase This Week
LEWISTON - The City of Lewiston has contracted with VSS International to complete a roadway preservation project on 21st Street between 7th Avenue and Nez Perce Grade. The city says a full reconstruction of 21st Street is a necessity but until funding can be obtained, the city has moved forward with a preservation project to provide a temporary solution. The fix is expected to last around 10 years.

According to police, at around 9:44 p.m., a 21-year-old male from Chubbuck, with a 20-year-old male passenger, from Arimo, were driving eastbound on west Arimo Road, at Garden Creek Gap in Arimo.
