Inslee Rejects Recommendation to Shrink Footprint of Massive Wind Farm
The future of one of the largest wind farms ever proposed in Washington got a boost Thursday as Gov. Jay Inslee told a state panel it went too far downsizing the project. Last month, the state’s energy facility siting panel sent Inslee its recommendation for approval of the Horse Heaven wind and solar project. It contained a raft of conditions that slashed the number of turbines in the Benton County project in half to curb threats to tribal cultural resources and endangered hawks.

Man Blamed for Crash on Idaho Highway That Killed 6 Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter
IDAHO FALLS - The man police say was responsible for a crash that killed 6 people on May 18 in Idaho Falls has been arrested on vehicular manslaughter charges. In the early morning hours of May 18, Idaho State Police troopers responded to the area milepost 308 on US 20 in Idaho Falls. Police say a Dodge Ram pickup was eastbound on US20 when it was driven left of center and collided with a westbound Chevrolet passenger van. The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the van, along with five other passengers in the van, succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. Nine other passengers of the van were injured and transported to a local hospital.

Single Vehicle Collision in Whitman County Leads to Driver Airlifted to Hospital
FARMINGTON - On Thursday, at approximately 5:52 PM, Whitman County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one-vehicle injury collision on Farmington Road near Milepost 8. According to the press release, the vehicle was traveling southbound when it veered off the west side of the roadway, sideswiping a power pole. The vehicle then continued through a ditch, struck a driveway entrance, went airborne, and finally came to rest on its wheels.
