Semi hauling 9 vehicles crashes near Trent High School

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – The Merkel Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Department of Transportation collaborated on a crash where a semi hauling nine vehicles overturned.

August 7 at 7:53 p.m., emergency crews responded to a crash on I-20 westbound near mile marker 262 (Trent High School). Crews found a car hauler flipped onto its side, with multiple vehicles damaged.

According to Texas DPS Sergeant Marc Couch, a truck tractor towing a (car hauler) semi-trailer transporting nine vehicles was traveling west on I-20. The driver drove toward the center median and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver was not injured.

Westbound traffic is expected to open around 10:40 p.m.
