ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – Two Abilene women were charged with aggravated kidnapping after a SWAT standoff where police shot and killed one suspect. New documents describe the scene from the events that unfolded on July 2.

Documents show that on July 2, an Abilene police officer responded to a call for assistance at the Little Elm Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, the officer observed a grey sedan leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

UPDATE: Suspect killed by police in Abilene SWAT standoff

A witness told the officer that three people, later identified as Yakeyah Jones, McKenzie Lane, and Jeremy Bennett, had gone into an apartment and taken his girlfriend.

Bennett, accompanied by Jones and Lane, allegedly went to the apartment to search for stolen property. He was informed that no property had been stolen. Allegedly, Bennett then pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill the witness. It was also reported that Lane had a gun that she and Jones shared during the incident.

As Bennett searched the house, the documents state the witness slipped out to call the police. When he returned, Bennett, Jones, and Lane were gone, as well as his girlfriend. According to the documents, he worried that she was taken against her will.

The documents go on to state that officers identified a potential location and drove to the 5200 block of Pueblo Drive, where they spotted a grey sedan similar to the one seen by another officer. The documents also claim that upon making contact with Lane and the abducted girl, the girl mouthed, “Help me, please help me.”

According to the victim, she was at the Little Elm Apartments when Bennett, Lane, and Jones came over. She reported seeing Bennett and Lane with guns and received death and harm threats from the three. While the witness slipped out to call for help, she reported that Bennett told her she had to leave with him.

The report states that Bennett forced her to empty her purse and stole cash from her as well as the other witness’s wallet and identification.

On the way to Pueblo Drive, the documents state the child lock was engaged, and the girl was forced inside the house. She pleaded for them to let her go as the police knocked on the door. Allegedly, Bennett then told the girl that since they had the other witness’s information, they would kill him if she told the police what happened.

The police rescued the girl, arrested Lane, and detained Jones. The police set a perimeter, and the SWAT team arrived on the scene. While the police were executing the search warrant, Bennett exited the house holding a gun. Bennett allegedly raised the gun, prompting SWAT officers to fire.

Bennett was struck multiple times and later died from his injuries in the hospital.
