    Arrests made in connection with storage unit burglaries in Coleman

    COLEMAN, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) — The Coleman Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with a series of storage unit burglaries.

    Coleman PD has been investigating several burglaries of storage units , mostly in the 100 block of Santa Anna Avenue and the 700 block of South Concho Street.

    On August 13, police sought warrants for Shon Smith, 59, and Charity Hord, 48, of Wingate, Texas. The Runnels County Sheriff’s Office arrested them, and they are currently held in the Runnels County Jail.

    Smith was arrested for four counts of Burglary of a Building and one count of Attempted Burglary of a Coin-Operated Machine. He is held on a $32,000 bond and additional bonds set for offenses he is accused of in Runnels County.

    Hord was arrested for three counts of Burglary of a Building and one count of Attempted Burglary of a Coin-Operated Machine. She is held on a $32,000 bond.

    The Coleman Police Department expects additional arrests and charges.

    Police have recovered numerous stolen items from burglarized storage units. Many of these items are believed to be from the storage units, but the owners have not yet reported them as stolen. If your storage unit was burglarized and you haven’t reported it, please contact the Coleman Police Department, as “ there is a strong possibility that we (Coleman PD) have recovered your stolen property .”
