ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) The new Lancium construction site is causing concerns for residents who live close by.

Construction is in full swing for Lancium’s new clean campus sight located just north-west of Abilene, and it has some residents in the area concerned.  In the more recent stages of the construction, more traffic is seen entering and exiting the construction site along Old Anson Road.

Many residents who live near the sight said that they had multiple close calls with water and dirt trucks moving through the area, and some even reporting minor property damage. Kristen Wyland lives near the construction and speaks to her experience on traffic in this area.

“It wasn’t too bad at first, and then they started getting the big trucks in, and that’s when they weren’t concerned about our safety at all. And they were pulling out in front of us when we were trying to tow our kids to and from different places. And it was just a matter of safety.”

Wyland says that they now have to take an alternate route when traveling to town to avoid the traffic. In regard to these growing concerns Abilene police informed us that the construction company requested to hire out an APD officer to help monitor this site while the construction continues to help with these issues.
