SAN ANGELO, Texas (BCH Sports) – The Abilene Eagles are 1-0 to start the season after taking care of business on the road against San Angelo Central.

In the 98th ever meeting between the two, the Eagles won their 46th game against them all-time.

After Abilene went up 7-0, the Bobcats tied things up with a 1-yard touchdown from Christian English to Colton Hill.

Later on, the Eagles scored on a 32 yard touchdown from Tristan Beal to Ryland Bradford to make it 14-7.

The Eagles continued to find ways to score, leading 28-22 at the half.

Things didn’t stop there as Abilene High put up a 60-burger in their season opener.

The Eagles finished with 413 total yards, with 197 of them coming on the ground. It looks like they are well on their way to surpassing last season’s mark of over 2,200 yards.

Abilene High will have a huge test next week, when they host Cooper at Shotwell Stadium in the Crosstown Showdown. Kickoff for that is scheduled for Friday, September 6th at 7:00 PM.
