Roommates accused of abandoning 4 dogs at Taylor County property

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – Roommates are accused of abandoning 4 dogs at a Taylor County property.

One of the roommates, Ryan Sims, was arrested for Animal Cruelty Saturday in connection to the allegations.

Court documents state four dogs were found abandoned when officers were called to a residence in March 2023.

“They were extremely skinny and had protruding bones,” according to the documents, which say officers found the dogs to be in “poor condition” and that the property smelled like urine and feces.

The property manager stated they had recently given two tenants, including Sims, notice to vacate in February.

Both roommates did admit that they each owned two of the dogs and also admitted they had not been to the residence in weeks.
