Police chase ends in rollover crash in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – A police chase that traveled through multiple Big Country counties ended in a crash after law enforcement deployed spike strips.

Per scanner traffic, the chase traveled through at least Eastland, Callahan, and Taylor Counties. It ended on I-20 around 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. near the Elmdale exit, where a pickup rolled over into the eastbound lane after law enforcement deployed spike strips.

DPS and Abilene officers immediately checked on the driver and called for an ambulance, though there was no word on the driver’s injuries or if others were involved.

As of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, eastbound traffic is moving slowly on the shoulder to pass the wreckage, while westbound traffic is completely stopped.
