ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A suspect was arrested after a 5-hour standoff in Abilene Tuesday evening.

Alexander Louis Acosta, 32, was taken into custody following the standoff at a home on the 5300 block of Taos Drive that began at 4:40 p.m.

Police say a victim initially called police because she says she got into an altercation with Acosta and that he took her property and would not return it. She also reported she was afraid of him.

Officers arrived and took two victims, a male and a female, into protective custody.

Acosta would not come out of the home for the next 5 hours but was eventually taken into custody around 10:00 p.m. when he was found hiding in the attic of the home.

He was booked into the Taylor County Jail on local warrants for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana, as well as an Assault Family Violence warrant from Austin.
