Summary: Sunny skies with temperatures close to seasonal into the mix of the 80’s following yesterday’s cold front. Last weeks rain showers will likely make headway into our drought monitor in some for or fashion as we are close to 3″ above the normal for the month of September and about 1″ above normal for the year. Temperatures will stay fall-like but increase as we move into the weekend and next week before the upper level low out east tries to swing a cold front south from the northeast.

In the meantime, hurricane Helene is expected to undergo rapid intensification as she barrels her way to the big bend in Florida. Major hurricane conditions are expected by landfall with nonsurvivable storm surge, heavy rain with winds near 120 mph at the surface. On top of the tornado threat, the southeast coast should also anticipate widespread power outages with weeks of recovery ahead.

Today: Cool, clear start with sunny skies, dry air and calm winds at temperatures settle for seasonal. High Temperature: 84° Winds: N 5-10 MPH

Tonight: Clear, calm and cool night ahead. Low Temperature: 57° Winds: NNE 5-10 MPH
