Berry joined Wylie ISD in 2015 as a CTE Business teacher. She then became an assistant principal in 2019 and has served as the Wylie High School principal since 2022.

“Mrs. Berry focuses on fostering a working relationship with our parents, community, and industry to better partner with them in our students’ education and the future of Abilene. She continues to work to improve the educational environment to be overall more healthy for our students both academically and social-emotionally,” Wylie ISD shared in a press release.

As an administrator, she has sought out opportunities for students to explore their career interests, allowing them to make more informed decisions after graduation.

“I am absolutely honored that Big Country administrators would recognize my role and commitment to that role at Wylie High School,” says Berry. “I find great joy each and every day in the opportunity to lead within such a great campus and community.”

She and the other regional winners will be recognized at the Jostens’ Night of the Stars Awards Dinner, which will be held during the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Summer Workshop in June. She will also be featured in a commemorative book titled “Texas Principals, Texas Heroes.”

As the Region 14 winner, Berry is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Principal of the Year.
