ANSON, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – Anson Police Department is investigating several incidents of criminal mischief and allegedly targets churches in the Anson area.

Multiple local churches have reported many broken windows and other property damages. Through the investigation made by Anson PD, Robert Howell, 46, was arrested and charged on October 16, 2024. According to Anson PD, additional evidence was connected to Howell regarding the damage to the Church of Christ. Anson PD managed to get the arrest warrant, which led to the charges of Howell.

Howell remains arrested and awaits trial as Anson PD Chief of Police Daniel Graziose said, “We remind the public that he is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Chief Graziose added, “As Chief of Police, I want to ensure the community that we take all criminal activity seriously. Our department aggressively investigates any report of crime, especially those targeting individuals or properties based on race, color, disability, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or age. Crimes motivated by such bias are considered hate crimes and can result in enhanced penalties.”

Anson PD is continuing this investigation and urges anyone with additional information to contact the department at 325-823-3056.
