On Friday, May 24th, the Rockshox Downhill will be held at Crankworx Cairns at 2:00 pm local time (12:30 am EST). Watch the broadcast below.

Downhill is perhaps the most popular racing discipline at Crankworx. The exciting format coupled with the familiar voices of Rob Warner and Eliot Jackson in the booth makes for a fantastic viewing experience.

In the downhill at Crankworx Rotorua, second-year elite racer Lachlan Stevens-McNab continued his early season domination with a sixth straight win, beating out 2023 Crankworx Whistler winner Jakob Jewett.

Eliana Huslebosch took the win for the women over World Cup racer Jess Blewitt.

Perhaps the most viral moment from the Crankworx Rotorua was Bernard Kerr’s prototype frame failing when he came up short on the enormous triple at the bottom. See the wild video below.

In Cairns, Kiwi World Cup racer Tuhoto-Ariki Pene will be favored to win after finishing fourth at Crankworx Rotorua. As long-time fans of downhill know, however, it would be unwise to count out downhill legend "Sick" Mick Hannah who will be racing.

Australian National Champion Ellie Smith will need to fend off slalom racers like Cassie Voysey, Martha Gill, and Jordy Scott.

See the full start list here.

Though many of the World Cup racers who raced in Rotorua will not race in Cairns, it is still shaping up to be an exciting race. Stay tuned for highlights and results
