The third round of the downhill World Cup will go off this weekend in Leogang, Austria.

Watch Continental Atherton teammates Andreas Kolb and Charlie Hatton preview the course on foot below.

In this video, Kolb and Hatton walked the track, an important part of inspecting the course where riders look for lines and memorize every section. Leogang has hosted many World Cups.

For years, Leogang had the reputation of being a smooth bike park track but the resort changed the course heading into 2020 and added some off-camber sections and steep, rooty tech. The course will be far from a walk in the park. With the possibility of rain over the weekend, racing could get spicy.

On Friday, the riders will put tires on the course for practice. On Saturday, they will race the qualifying and semifinal rounds, before finals on Sunday. Racers need to know the course like the back of their hand to make it through two elimination rounds and do well in finals.

Andreas Kolb is the defending winner at Leogang. The Austrian was incredibly consistent in 2022, finishing the season with five top 5 results and two podiums. In 2023, Kolb finally broke through and triumphed on his home soil in Leogang.

In 2024, Kolb has remained consistent with a 9th and 8th in the first two rounds but has yet to return to his 2023 form. Kolb and World Champion Charlie Hatton will be looking to get back up to speed this weekend.
