We’ll have a full race report on the North Mountain, Darrington stop of the CDC soon, but for now: It’s a beast. Big vert, technical trails, long descents. It puts the “endure” back in “enduro”. This is no walk in the park for riders, or spectators.

So we switched things up a little bit. Our usual host, Shaun Webby decided to race this round, so while his suny complexion didn’t grace our screens, he was out on track, putting down a respectable 10th place against the stacked Pro Men’s field.

In his place we had the delightful Meigan Butler. She’s fast on a bike, but stepped out from between the tape this weekend to roam the course, interviewing hecklers and spectators. She managed to check back in with the mom from the Raging River stop, and it sounds like she’s upped her heckle game. Also on course: an equestrian learning how to spectate bike events, and a horde of hecklers with themed costumes, and a chainsaw. Meigan learned how to to start the saw, and checked in with everyone on course.

At the end of the day, we awarded the coveted (not-so-golden this time, sorry!) chainsaw to the themed group who spent so much time chasing hecklers around with their own saw that they ran out of fuel.

We’ve got two more race stops left to reward hecklers, and we’re excited to see who brings the energy to Tiger Mountain.
