Every week I run through all of the articles we published, pull the highlights, give them a little extra love, and then take a look forward at the next week of stories. If you want to see these wrap-ups first, subscribe to our newsletter.
We are approaching the official end of the Dog Days of Summer. Sirius, the Dog Star, will quit rising with the sun on Monday, and we’ll go back to regular old summer heat. Here in Bellingham the trails are dry, but not blown out, and the swimming holes are packed with kids and adults cooling off. Alpine season is in full force out here, and I managed to get high with a great group of friends last weekend.
Any excuse to ride bikes high in the alpine.

In the News
This week, Red Bull Rampage dates finally dropped! The event will take place over two days in early October. The first-ever women’s portion of the event will happen October 10th, and then two days later, on the 12th, the men will drop in. Tickets will go on sale August 30th, and we’re so excited to head down to the desert and cover all the action.

Gear Reviews
It’s been a fun week for gear. Andrew Major wrapped up his review of my secondhand Transition Spire, and apparently he’s already got the next bike lined up, although he won’t tell me what it is! Ariel and Andrew both gave us the rundown on their everyday carries, Deven investigated a mysterious dropper wiggle, and I reviewed some bits and bobs. I’ve also got a set of Schwalbe’s new radial tires headed in for review - I’m really excited to see how they stack up in terms of rolling resistance vs traction.
We’ve got a couple fun new bikes launching in the next couple of weeks, long term reviews of the Stumpjumper and Top Fuel coming, and a bunch of really exciting profiles and interviews. So get out there, and enjoy the ride!
