Rachel Dratch Interrupts Jimmy Fallon Monologue With Hilarious Raygun Breakdancing Impression

After going viral for her performance at the 2024 Olympics, Australian breakdancer Raygun has now been immortalized on late night television thanks to Rachel Dratch’s hilarious impression of her on The Tonight Show Monday (Aug. 12).

During his monologue, host Jimmy Fallon only needed to mention that breakdancing made its Olympic debut at the Paris games this month for the live audience to start laughing in anticipation of where the segment was headed. After laughing at competition clips of the real-life dancer born Rachael Gunn — who scored zero points against the other country’s breakers — viewers got an extra surprise when Dratch entered the studio dressed as the Aussie breaker, mimicking some of her unorthodox moves.

The Saturday Night Live alum didn’t say anything the entire sketch, keeping up a bit that Raygun only expresses herself through dance moves. These included impressions of the Olympian’s kangaroo-like hopping and rolling on the floor. After wordlessly convincing Fallon to dance with her, Dratch boogied her way offstage and left.

The skit comes amid reports that breaking will not be invited back to the Olympics in 2024, possibly marking the end of a very short lifespan for the sport’s recognition by the Games. This year, Japan’s Ami Yuasa won the women’s gold medal in breaking, followed by silver-winner Dominika Banevic from Lithuania and bronze-earner Liu Qingyi from China. The men’s category saw Canada’s Philip Kim take gold while France’s Danis Civil and the United States’ Victor Montalvo finished with silver and bronze, respectively.

Watch Dratch dance to the beat of Raygun’s drum on The Tonight Show above.
