We managed to set more record high temperatures.... and record warm low overnight temperatures... Thursday. Thunderstorms are signaling a change in that hot pattern.

A cold front moving across the area Thursday evening is creating some strong to severe thunderstorms. Wind is the number one threat, but small hail and pockets of heavy rain are also possible.

Use caution throughout the evening, especially where anything with a flame or spark is concerned. Fire weather conditions are extremely high.

A cool down starts Friday with most highs into the 80s to mid 90s. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine and a few scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.

Saturday is almost a carbon copy with temperatures into the 80s and mid 90s and again a threat of some scattered to isolated storms.

With the temperature staying close to seasonal averages once again on Sunday, a chance of showers or storms will start to edge down as the temperatures begin to edge up early next week. More of the high temperatures will push back into the 90s in the early part of next week, and we could actually approach 100° in some places again by next weekend.
