A Mississippi man admitted to stabbing another man he met at a Biloxi laundromat more than 30 times, severing his arm before trying to take the body to a Biloxi casino in hopes of someone putting man back together.

Clint Brower pleaded guilty on Monday to first-degree murder in the May 2020 death of 41-year-old Micah Harrington. Circuit Court Judge Lisa P. Dodson sentenced Brower to life in prison.

According to the Harrison County Prosecutors Office, surveillance video showed the 45-year-old Brower and Harrington talking inside the laundromat at the Mazalea Travel RV Park on May 26, 2020, when Brower suddenly lunged at the victim and started stabbing him with a butcher knife. Witnesses called police after they saw Brower dragging Harrington’s body out of the laundry room. Cops arrested him shortly thereafter.

“I took the knife and killed him,” Brower said at his sentencing, according to local ABC and CBS affiliate WLOX .

In all, Brower stabbed Harrington more than 30 times, severing his arm in the process, prosecutors said. Brower left the laundry mat and went back to his trailer to change his clothes before he walked back to the crime scene. He then tied a rope to Harrison’s body and dragged him outside in hopes that someone at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino 10 miles away could put the victim back together, according to prosecutors.

Brower reportedly told the judge that he felt that Harrington was a threat but the victim had no weapons. The now-convicted murderer said he has suffered from mental health issues since he was a teenager.

“I am truly sorry for what happened,” he said, according to WLOX. “I want you to know — it was beyond my control. That’s all I can say. I know y’all have grieved for his loss.”

Per prosecutors, Dodson called the murder “senseless” because Brower had no reason to kill Harrington.

Brower’s attorney said the fact that his client thought he could go to a casino to cobble a murder victim back together is an example of his mental health problems.

“Clint has struggled with mental issues his whole life,’ Crosby told the Sun Herald newspaper . “His mother and sister have done everything humanly possible to try and get him help.”

Hours before the murder, Biloxi police had reportedly arrested Brower on an outstanding warrant for disorderly conduct and officers drove him back home after he bonded out of jail. Cops said he showed no signs of harming him or others.

Harrington’s family and friends were left devastated after his killing. After struggling with drugs and alcohol earlier in life, Harrington got sober, started working a construction job and rekindled his relationship with his daughter, Micara Harrington, who moved to the Biloxi area to be near him.

“I was so proud of him,” she told WLOX. “It was like looking at a dad I never seen before. He wasn’t drinking, he wasn’t doing drugs.”

His friend and co-worker, Cory Washburn, told the Sun Herald that Brower adored his daughter and committed his life to taking care of her.

“I worked with him almost seven days a week, and he was so proud of the progress that he was making,” Washburn told the outlet. “He was creating a life here. He spoke every day about his daughter and his wish to better himself, to make a home for her.”
