Along with dozens of new restaurants and shops opening in South Mississippi are three business listed for sale in prime locations on the Coast.
Lucy’s Retired Surfer’s Bar & Restaurant on the beach in Biloxi is for sale or lease, said Monte Luffey, a principal with Southeast Commercial Real Estate. The company has the listing for the building at 1775 Beach Blvd., which is along what is known as “Restaurant Row.”
Southeast Commercial describes the location as “a rarity on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” since most restaurants are north of Beach Boulevard, while this one is on the south side, directly on the beach.
The building has 8,263 square feet on a 1.29 acre site. An elevator recently was installed for access to the second and third floor, and all fixtures, furniture and equipment are included in the sale or lease price, according to the sales brochure.
The restaurant opened in 2019 and joined the popular Lucy’s Tchoupitoulas Street location in New Orleans and sister restaurants in Key West, Florida,Aruba and Costa Rica.
Lucy’s in Biloxi remains open and continues to serve a menu of “seafood-heavy Cal-Mex eats,” featuring homemade chips and salsa, nachos tacos, salads, burgers and a bacon and brie chicken sandwich.

The Yard Milkshake Bar at The Promanade shopping center in D’Iberville also opened in 2019 and is for sale.
A listing on Facebook said the restaurant is available for “unexpected quick sale.”
Listing agent Lauren Drummond Dale with Coastal Consultants said she’s taking offers on the business and “It’s available immediately,” pending landlord approval.
The “rock bottom price” is $65,000 and the sale is turnkey.

“I primarily operate in a highly confidential manner,” Dale said, but with the owner approval, she posted the sale on Facebook.
“Their lease is up for renewal and they want to retire,” she said.
The restaurant was the first franchise if The Yard, which started in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and expanded to Panama City Beach, Florida, and Fairhope, Alabama.
Specialty milkshakes are served in souvenir mason jars, dipped, dolloped and swirled with sweet treats and served with a slice of cheesecake, a brownie or other treat on top.
A popular Coast liquor store is another business listed for sale by Coastal Consultants “due to a partner dissolution,” Dale said. She didn’t reveal the name because of confidentiality, but said it is a very large volume store in South Mississippi and is a good owner-operation situation.
More information about the sale of The Yard or the liquor store is available by email at lauren@coastalconsult.org and Dale said she has more businesses for sale in the pipeline.
