12-year-old dead after apparent accidental shooting in home, MS Coast authorities say

A 12-year-old boy died early Monday after an apparent accidental shooting, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department the reported shooting occurred at the family’s home on Kevin Drive in the Helena Community .

Authorities did not immediately identify the child.

The Sheriff’s Department said it would release more information “as it becomes available.”
