    2 injured, 4 arrested after early morning shooting at Gulfport Airbnb, MS Coast police say

    Authorities arrested four suspects after a shooting injured two people early Saturday at an Airbnb in Gulfport, police said.

    Police were called at 4:17 a.m. to the rental property in the 1100 block of 19th Street , Gulfport Police said in a news release.

    Authorities said one victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle. The victim was later airlifted to another hospital and is currently listed in stable condition, the news release said.

    Police said another victim suffered an “apparent gunshot wound” in the leg.

    Authorities said a group from South Carolina rented the Airbnb.

    Tedric Antonio Owens, 35, faces two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the shootings. Police said they cleared the residence and found Owens under a bed, holding a gun.

    Owens resisted arrest and hit and choked a K9 before police arrested him, authorities said. He also faces one count of assault on a law enforcement officer, one count of trafficking cocaine, one count of trafficking MDMA and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

    Authorities searched the home and found three guns, 174 grams of marijuana, 1,011 dosage units of MDMA and 84 grams of cocaine, the news release said. Two of the seized guns were previously reported stolen, authorities said.

    Police also arrested three suspects on drug charges: Christopher Emanuel Reese, 34, Demetrius Dontay Goodman, 36, and Laquavius Deshaun Wortherly, 36. Each faces one count of trafficking cocaine, one count of trafficking MDMA and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

    The suspects are held in the Harrison County jail. Owens is held on a $1,100,000 bond. Reese, Goodman and Wortherly are each held on a $550,000 bond.
