    South MS grocery stores, restaurants & businesses close for Hurricane Francine. See list

    Businesses are closed across South Mississippi Wednesday as Hurricane Francine approaches and the closings could extend into Thursday with the hurricane landfall not expected until Wednesday evening.

    Several cities have closed offices Wednesday and libraries are closed. Gulfport has issued a curfew starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Thursday.

    Here are the latest restaurant and business closings on the Coast:

    ▪ Altered Reality Brewing in Biloxi is closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Big Play Family Entertainment in Biloxi is closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Biloxi Shuckers’ Wednesday game is canceled. A doubleheader is scheduled Thursday.

    ▪ Coterie restaurant in Long Beach will be closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast has closed Bridges Golf Club on Wednesday.

    . ▪ Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula has altered its work shifts for Wednesday. The first shift will operate as usual. Second shift will end at 7 p.m. Third and fourth shifts are canceled. Operations are scheduled to resume at 6 a.m. Thursday.

    ▪ Jersey Mike’s restaurants at Gulfport and D’Iberville will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday. They plan to reopen at 10 a.m. Thursday.

    ▪ Keesler Air Force Base is closed for all non-essential personnel on Wednesday. Keesler’s Division Street gate will close at 6 a.m. until further notice. The Youth Center, Child Development Centers and the Commissary and Base Exchange will be closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Lyman Pharmacy in Gulfport closes at noon Wednesday.

    ▪ Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport is closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport will be closed Wednesday. Plans are to reopen at 10 a.m. Thursday.

    ▪ Murky Waters restaurants at Bay St. Louis, Gulfport and Ocean Springs are closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport will reduce manning Wednesday and several base services will be closed. The Navy Exchange Commissary, Child Development Center, Youth and Tenn Centers and all Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities also will be closed. Colmer Dining Facility will be open for breakfast only. The NEX mini-mart will be open until 11 a.m. The gates at 28th Street and Broad Avenue and the Visitor Control Center close at noon. The The Pass Road Gate will remain open.

    ▪ Pav & Broome Fine Jewelry in Gulfport will be closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Rouses Markets at Ocean Springs, Gulfport and Diamondhead will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

    ▪ Silver Slipper Casino will close the buffet and table games Wednesday, along with Blue Bayou restaurant, the gift shop and valet.

    ▪ Southern Rail Commission changed the date of its virtual quarterly meeting that was scheduled Friday to Friday, Sept. 20 at 9 a.m.

    ▪ Tatonut donut shop in Ocean Springs has closed Wednesday and plans to reopen Friday.

    ▪ Walmart stores are closing at 3 p.m. in Pass Christian, Waveland and Picayune. Also closed are three stores in Gulfport: on U.S. 49 and the Neighborhood Market stores in Orange Beach and on Pass Road, plus Sam’s Club in Gulfport.

    ▪ Winn-Dixie grocery store in Long Beach will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

    Other closings

    ▪ Bayou Portage Bridge in Harrison County is closed until further notice. Drivers should use the detour route via Menge Avenue.

    ▪ Biloxi Architectural and Historical Review Committee’s meeting is canceled Thursday. The cases will be heard Sept. 26.

    ▪ Buccaneer State Park near Waveland has been evacuated and will remain closed until further notice.

    ▪ County Health Departments are closing Wednesday. Pearl River and Hancock counties will be closed all day. Harrison and Jackson counties are closing at noon. Stone County closing at 2:00 p.m.

    ▪ Feed My Sheep in Gulfport is closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Fly Llama Brewing in Biloxi will close at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

    ▪ Gulf Islands National Seashore is closed, along with Davis Bayou Campground.

    ▪ Gulf Islands National Seashore is closed in Mississippi. Ship Island Excursions to Ship Island is closed.

    ▪ Hancock County Libraries are closed Wednesday and Thursday.

    ▪ Harrison County Library System is closed Wednesday.

    ▪ Harrison County hazardous waste site is closed Saturday.

    ▪ Jackson-George Regional Library branches will close Wednesday. All library programming scheduled for Wednesday also is canceled.

    ▪ Pass Christian Harbor is closed.

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service temporarily closed these recreation areas in South Mississippi:

    ▪ De Soto Ranger District, all recreation areas, including the Big Biloxi Recreation Area and Campground, Cypress Creek Campground, POW Lake, and Black Creek Wilderness

    ▪ Chickasawhay Ranger District, Turkey Fork Recreation Area, Chickasaw ATV/motorcycle trail, and Longleaf horse trail

    ▪ Homochitto Ranger District, Clear Springs Recreation Area close at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
