    2 arrested after MS Coast chase ends with spike strips deployed at lighthouse, police say

    Biloxi Police arrested two suspects Thursday after they fled narcotics investigators who found one suspect in a car packaging “alleged cocaine” into bags, authorities said.

    Police said Errol Otis, 39, of Gulfport fled investigators who found him allegedly packing cocaine in parked car in the 100 block of Beach Boulevard . An investigator reached in through an open driver-side window and grabbed a bag of alleged cocaine from Otis’ lap, authorities said. Otis fled immediately.

    He drove west on Beach Boulevard with another suspect, Miranda Hannon-Mayer, 24, of Louisiana. Two children, ages 3 and 4, were in the backseat, police said.

    Police said Otis ran red lights and threw bags of “alleged cocaine” from his window. Officers spike stripped the car and stopped it at the Biloxi Lighthouse on Beach Boulevard and Porter Avenue .

    Police arrested Otis and Hannon-Mayer and removed the two children to safety, they said.

    Otis faces one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, one count of felony eluding and two counts of child endangerment. Hannon-Mayer faces one count of possesion of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of child endangerment.

    Police took Otis and Hannon-Mayer to the Harrison County jail, where they are held on bonds of $175,000 and $125,000.
