Team USA track and field star Noah Lyles earned his second medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics after testing positive for COVID-19.

On Thursday (August 8), Lyles earned bronze in the men's 200-meter sprint with a time of 19.70 seconds.

Thursday's race came after Lyles earned gold in the men's 100-meter sprint in a tight photo finish. Lyles was heavily favored to earn another gold medal in the 200m race and win the Olympic Sprint Double.

However, following the 200m race, Lyles was gasping for air. The track star received medical attention and was taken from the track in a wheelchair because he couldn't walk on his own.

Reporters in Paris later revealed that Lyles tested positive for COVID-19.

The star athlete was beat out in the 200m by Letsile Tebogo who earned gold and became the first African to win the race, clocking in a time of 19.46. Team USA's Kenneth Bednarek won silver on Thursday with a time of 19.62 seconds.

It's unclear whether Lyles will compete in the Mens 4x100m relay final on Friday (August 9).
