Body Of Missing 31-Year-Old Woman Found Stuffed Inside Suitcase

The body of a missing New York woman has been found stuffed inside of a suitcase, PEOPLE reports.

On Tuesday (September 3), 31-year-old Seikeya Jones was found dead inside luggage near an apartment building in Huntington, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department said.

The discovery came after police received a report about suspicious activity on Nassau Road. Officers found Jones' body behind the apartment.

Police said they are still investigating the incident. An autopsy will be conducted by Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office to determine Jones’ cause of death.

Jones was last seen near Fifth Avenue in Huntington Station and reported missing on August 16. Footage from residents of the apartment building where Jones was found reportedly showed the woman walking into the complex with an unidentified man last week. One resident said she heard a woman screaming at roughly 3 a.m. on Sunday (September 1).

Jones' friend, Mary Waldron , described her as a positive person.

"We called her Keya," Waldron told reporters. "She was a really sweet girl. She was always smiling. She was always happy."
