Social media was quick to react to moments from the first face-off between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump during the presidential debate.

On Tuesday (September 10), Harris and Trump went head-to-head on hot-button issues including immigration, the economy, and abortions on the debate stage in Philadelphia.

Social media users commented on several false claims touted by Trump, including that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were abducting and eating pets. Users also called out Trump's wild comments about Harris wanting to do "transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison" and her running mate, Tim Walz , supporting the "execution" of babies after birth.

"Doing all that yelling and lying," legendary singer Dionne Warwick tweeted .

During the debate, Harris pledged to support the middle class, reinstate abortion rights, and bring unity to the country. Trump attacked Harris on the current state of immigration issues, the economy, and international relations.
