Xcite Wrestling is bringing hometown heroes and household names to rings across the Southern Tier this summer.

The Southern Tier’s independent wrestling outfit kicked off its summer tour June 29 in Binghamton, and the fireworks continue this weekend in Hornell with “Xcite Wrestling Presents: Independence Day” on Saturday, July 6 at the Hornell Area Family YMCA.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bell will ring at 7 p.m. Top independent star LSG (Leon St. Giovanni) will headline the Hornell show when he renews his rivalry with TJ Epixx. The card also features Hornell natives Chael Connors, Cerin Rahne, Kayda Cyn and Phinehas Sun.

The wrestling circuit will be right back in action Sunday, July 7 with “Project X: Episode IV” at The X2 at the Arnot Mall Events Center in Horseheads. Doors open at 4 p.m. with wrestling starting at 5.

Project X provides a showcase for recent graduates of the Fighting Arts Institute in Horseheads. Many of the Hornell wrestlers, part of a new wave of Xcite stars, got their start in the industry at the Horseheads wrestling school.

Admission for Sunday’s show is complementary for fans with a proof of purchase from a previous Xcite event this summer. Otherwise, tickets are $10 at the door.

Xcite Wrestling will then move to Broome County and present “Keep On Rollin’” Saturday, July 20 at Skate Estate, 3401, Vestal Road in Vestal. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the action beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dan Barry is scheduled to take on fan favorite CPA, while Black & Yellow return to battle the Silver Saints in tag team action.

The July 20 show will mark the first pro wrestling event held at Skate Estate, a longtime supporter of Xcite events.

Xcite will be back at Spiedie Fest for a full weekend of action Aug. 2-4. The matches are included with festival admission. Matches will be announced later this month, but an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is confirmed for Saturday, Aug. 3. Meet and greet packages are available now at spiediefest.com/concerts.

Unless otherwise noted, reserved front row tickets at Xcite events are $30 per adult and $20 for kids ages 3-13. General admission is $20 per adult and $10 for kids ages 3-13. For more info, visit xcitewrestling.com/tickets. Full match cards can be found on the Xcite Facebook page.
