BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A popular summer soiree is returning to the Binghamton Club.

The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra is preparing for its second annual Bing, Bing, Swing gala fundraiser.

Music will be provided by jazz vocalist Amanda Carr as well as Maestro Daniel Hege and members of the Philharmonic for an evening of swing favorites from the Great American Songbook. Like last year, Scranton-based dancer and dance instructor Vince Brust will be in attendance to provide lessons before the performance and during the intermission. There will also be an open bar and dessert reception.

Proceeds from the events will go to the Philharmonic’s educational initiatives.

Executive Director Paul Cienniwa says last year’s event was a huge success.

“We had a lot of people on the dance floor but this is also a performance so people can just come and listen and sip some prosecco and enjoy some lovely desserts,” said Cienniwa.

New this year, the Philharmonic is also offering the option of a sit-down dinner prior to the performance.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. with dinner starting at 6.

Tickets, with dinner, are $200 per person and $100 per person for Bing, Bing, Swing! alone.
    Cocktail attire is requested.
