Taco Bell coming to Owego

OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Tioga County fans of the crunchwrap and chalupa can rejoice, a Taco Bell is planned for Owego.

The Tioga County Planning Board will be considering a special use permit for a proposed Taco Bell at its meeting next Wednesday.

Planning Director Elaine Jardine would not divulge information related to its location, citing the county’s policy of keeping planning applications confidential until their first public consideration. However, she did confirm that it would be in the Town of Owego.

Locals say it is expected to be along Route 17-C, not far from where an Aldi’s grocery store is currently under construction.

The old banquet facility of the former Owego Treadway Inn was demolished earlier this year to make way for the Aldi’s.
