With this year marking the 17th annual Shoot for a Cure event, and the last 12 years dedicated to supporting the Bruno Cancer Center, Blackwood spoke on the history and importance of why Circle of Hope remains committed to supporting the cause.

“This is our 17th year to host this event and for the last 12 years, all of our proceeds have been donated to Bruno Cancer Center, where it is used for patient assistance, helping those who are currently battling the dreadful disease. We originally started as a Relay For Life team but made the decision to focus on our local communities instead. We chose Bruno Cancer Center because several of our family members who are currently survivors have been patients there and we know how important it is to have a team of doctors all together working to make that happen,” Blackwood shared.

“Our goal as a family is to make a difference for our community. We have lost so many to cancer, and our prayer is that a cure will be available in the near future. Circle of Hope is dedicated in our efforts to help in any way we can to make that happen,” Blackwood added.
