BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A week following a deadly shooting where four people were killed and 10 others injured, a judge has ordered a Birmingham event center to be locked up.

On Friday, Circuit Judge Monica Agee ordered that a a nightclub in the 3400 block of 27th Street North be temporarily padlocked, pending an ongoing lawsuit between the city and the center’s three owners: GW LLC, Mortgage Realty and Trendsetters LLP.

The order comes after the city sued to have an injunction against the owners of the center, claiming they didn’t have a business license when a shooting took place there July 13. In the wake of the shooting, there were two other events that were scheduled to take place at that location.

“The Birmingham Police Department is hereby authorized to padlock The Subject Property as soon as it can be safely accomplished, and to undertake any necessary measures needed to ensure that The Subject Property is inaccessible to the named and unnamed defendants and the general public,” Agee wrote in her order.

In recent months, the city of Birmingham has cracked down on nightclubs where shootings have taken place, such as Cru Birmingham .

A hearing on the injunction has been set for July 29.
