BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The Bismarck Larks are changing their name for one game to honor ranchers and cattle farmers in the state.

According to a news release, you can find the Heartland Holy Cows playing at the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark on August 8 against the Mankato Moondogs.

There will be specially designed hats and jerseys and those will be auctioned off during the game thanks to the North Dakota Beef Commission.

Things to do around town: July 1-7

All the proceeds will be used to purchase beef to be donated to the Great Plains Food Bank.

You can also visit this website to buy your own t-shirts, tank tops, hats, and other merchandise.

“Our team aimed to honor the remarkable ranching industry in our state and throughout the Heartland of the United States,” said John Bollinger, the CEO and owner of the Larks. “Farmers, ranchers, and landowners are incredibly hardworking individuals who rarely take a day off, except for attending church on Sundays. They play a crucial role in feeding the nation with their dedication to growing and caring for our food supply. This tribute is for them.”
