BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Only four days are left to sign up your teen for the Vision Zero Driving Skills for Success (DSFS) program.

DSFS is an interactive driving program that gives teens ages 14-18 with a permit or license hands-on driving experience.

The class is taking place on Tuesday, July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon or 1-4 p.m. at the VFW Sports Center, but you need to register before Friday, July 26.

Things to do around town: July 22-28

DSFS lets teens participate in various interactive traffic safety activities as well as simulators that focus on impaired and distracted driving prevention and the importance of wearing a seat belt.

In 2022, teen drivers accounted for 6% of all drivers, but were the ones behind the wheel in nearly 16% of crashes. In the same year, teen drivers were involved in 11% of fatal crashes.

It’s important to educate teen drivers and provide them with chances to enhance their driving skills.

You can register here , and a confirmation email will be sent from the North Dakota Department of Transportation before the class.
