BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A jury trial is set for a Burleigh County man who faces 41 felony counts which include sex crimes involving underage girls.

37-year-old Jamal Fermin of Bismarck is currently in custody at the Burleigh Morton Detention Center, and made a court appearance through closed-circuit television during a preliminary hearing in Burleigh County District Court on Monday, July 22.

According to court documents, Fermin was arrested last September.

Investigators say Fermin had sex with underage girls and gave them illegal drugs, which include charges of delivering marijuana and methamphetamine.

Court documents also allege that Fermin used social media to request and receive explicit videos and photos from underage girls. Investigators obtained a warrant and discovered some explicit images on Fermin’s Snapchat account.

If found guilty of the most serious charges, he faces life in prison. Fermin’s trial is scheduled to begin on September 17.
