BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The University of Mary has experienced rapid growth in its new student population in recent years and says this fall it is set to exceed last year’s record number of freshmen enrolled.

According to Vice President for Public Affairs, Rachael Brash, the university enrolled 559 freshmen in 2023, which was their largest incoming class on record.

However, she now says the university expects to break that record with the upcoming fall semester.

Brash says they’ve also seen an increase in attracting students to North Dakota from all 50 states with 65% of incoming freshmen coming from out-of-state.

She believes the university is attracting more attention based on what the school offers to students.

“It’s a really a combination of people being aware of our high-quality programs and world-class faculty,” expressed Brash

Brash adds that they’ve also seen the largest growth in their nursing program, with over 200 students enrolling as healthcare majors this year.

She noted that employers from across the state have expressed interest in meeting their students.

“These employers know that they are going to be prepared appropriately and that our students are excited to work and be involved within their communities,” added Brash.
