    Bismarck man pleads not guilty at Preliminary Hearing

    MANDAN, ND ( KXNET ) — A Bismarck man pleaded not guilty during his preliminary hearing in Morton County District Court on Monday, July 29, to charges of stealing a car and driving it to New Salem in an attempt to steal another vehicle.

    Elmi Abdikadir Elmi, 27, faces three felony counts, including theft, unlawful entry, and hindering law enforcement.

    Morton County deputies arrested Elmi Elmi after they say he stole the car, and drove it to a truck stop in New Salem.

    After leaving the car, deputies say he then tried to steal another truck that was parked outside.

    The court appointed Elmi an attorney to represent him in his upcoming trial on October 15.
