OC World Launches Orange County Media Club: Promoting Excellence & Diversity in Journalism

    2024-06-13

The nonprofit multimedia organization OC World announces the launch of OC World Media Club this week. Dedicated to promoting excellence in journalism and media within Orange County, the nonprofit venture will provide professional development, networking, advocacy, and community engagement opportunities to a wide range of media professionals. Its vision is to support the growth and diversity of media professionals and college students.

At this time, there is no cost to join and all media platforms all welcome to participate including public affairs programming, broadcast, radio, magazines, print and digital publications, colleges, and universities.

OC World Media Club was created by OC World co-founder/producer Scott Hays based on an unwavering commitment to elevating standards of journalism. “I want to cultivate a space where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but celebrated,” said Hays.

One of the organization’s chief programs is community engagement, based on fostering the power of media to inform, inspire, and foster meaningful connections with the diverse communities of the county. Hays explains, “through collaborative projects, outreach initiatives, and partnerships with local organizations, we hope to amplify the voices of our neighbors and shine a spotlight on the issues that matter most to them.”
