Black celebrities turn on Biden as campaign launches Ads touting accomplishments for Black community

Prominent Black celebrities Cardi B and Charlamagne tha God have publicly withdrawn their support for President Biden.

Charlamagne tha God (CTG) stated that he believes President Biden should not seek re-election in 2024. He expressed this opinion while guest hosting The Daily Show on December 6, 2023.

Charlamagne tha God did not officially endorse Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. He did however interview Biden on his radio show and ultimately expressed support for his candidacy. Biden appeared on "The Breakfast Club" for a wide-ranging interview. During the discussion, Biden made the controversial statement that "if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't Black."

Charlamagne says now Biden's age and low popularity make him a weak candidate and suggested he may lose to Donald Trump. Charlamagne also expressed that Biden's ego is preventing him from stepping aside. He compared this situation to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who many believe should have retired during the Obama administration to allow for a Democratic appointment.

Cardi B interviewed and endorsed Joe Biden in 2020. In November 2023. Cardi B publicly declared that she would no longer be endorsing President Biden or any other candidate. Stating her decision was primarily motivated by her frustration with the simultaneous occurrence of the White House helping Ukraine fight Russia and Israel fight Hamas while New York City her hometown was facing significant public service cuts across various sectors, including schools, libraries, police, and sanitation.

The Biden-Harris reelection campaign has launched a series of ads specifically targeting the Black community. Its decision to launch targeted ads to Black voters comes as no surprise.

Black voters have traditionally been a strong Democratic voting bloc, and played a key role in Biden's victory in 2020. However, recent polls have shown that some Black voters are feeling less enthusiastic about the Democratic Party in the wake of rising inflation and other economic concerns.

The campaign believes that by reminding Black voters of the progress made under the Biden-Harris administration, they can secure their support in the 2024 election.
