[U.S Politics] New York City Mayor Eric Adams made an impassioned call for New Yorkers to descend upon Washington, D.C., in a rally demanding federal action on the city's immigration crisis.

In a press briefing clip posted to Instagram by @ViralNewsNYC, the mayor says “I'm not pushing this off on New Yorkers, I'm saying to New Yorkers, you're angry and I'm angry. And, the source of our discontent lies in Washington, DC. We need to mobilize and rally and go to D.C and say to the national government, this is not fair what's happening to New York City”.

    Watch the full briefing here.

The mayor’s plea comes after months of frustration with what he perceives as the federal government's inadequate response to the influx of asylum seekers arriving in New York.

The call to rally in Washington D.C marks a significant escalation in Adams increasingly vocal criticism of the Biden administration's handling of the immigration influx.
