[U.S Politics] On February 22, 2024, the world was shocked by the brutal murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia. The suspect, Jose Ibarra, is an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela who entered the United States in 2022.

Despite the public outcry and calls for justice, President Joe Biden has not mentioned Laken Riley's name in any of his public statements or on his social media accounts.

On the same day that Laken Riley was laid to rest, the President's official account posted on X (formerly Twitter) "Congress must pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act so we can make police reform the law of the land".

The legislation named after George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man who died on May 25, 2020, during an arrest in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The death of Floyd, a criminal felon with a history of drug addiction, sparked widespread outrage and protests across the United States and around the world.

Many commenting in the President's thread on X expressed outrage that Biden was posting about George Floyd but had not expressed any sympathy or outrage over Laken Riley's demise. Some made comparisons between the attention and treatment the two incidents received.

User Sassafrass84 wrote, "Where's Laken Rileys statue? Her gold casket? Millions sent to her family"? Where is her justice and peace?

Others like user Daniel Baldwin simply wrote, "say Laken Riley's name."

The tragic death of Laken Riley has become a topic of political discourse, with various politicians and media outlets using the incident to push their own agendas.

Republicans are calling for strict measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. And, in response to the criticism, Democrats point out that Biden endorsed a border bill which was blocked by senate republicans.

As the nation mourns the loss of Laken Riley and seeks answers to the many questions surrounding her death, the silence of the President has only added to the frustration.

Since Joe Biden took office there have been over 7.2 million illegal border crossings, including 1.4 million "gotaways" who have escaped into the U.S. according to the New York Post.

George Floyd, an ex convict and avoid abuser of women is being lauded. While a young woman who had a bright future is being ignored. This is the left in America today.
