Hazard Community and Technical College recently named Tammy Duff as director of the University Center of the Mountains. Duff began working at then-Hazard Community College in 1990 as performing arts director. According to a statement from HCTC, she has spent the past several years of her career as an admissions advisor and recruiter, allowing her to assist students with embarking on their academic journeys in pursuit of certificates, diplomas and degrees.

Veteran coach is averaging slightly over 10-wins a season over the first five. Larry French is the third winningest high school coach in Kentucky history. We have him with 372-wins overall. He has done a fine job at Middlesboro over his first five years after being brought in to “right the ship” for a once proud program which had fallen on hard times (10-44 over the five season period immediately prior to French’s hire). Sure, the Yellow Jackets graduated some key pieces to the puzzle; but, in the end, Larry French is still there-and that may prove to be plenty!
