Chadron Cross Country Competes In Scottsbluff
The Chadron Cardinals boys and girls cross country teams opened up their season in Scottsbluff on Thursday evening. The boys team had 12 runners in the race and were led by freshman Braylon Branson who ran a 19:10 to pace the Chadron runners, finishing in 15th. Henrich Rider finished 25th with a time of 19:47. Tri County Northeast couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers at home by a 34-20 margin on Friday. Tri County Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Jorgensen, who rushed for 62 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 42 yards and a touchdown. Brayden McCorkindale was in the mix too, providing Tri County Northeast with two touchdowns touchdowns.
