The Indoor/Outdoor Movie Night showing of Mayor Cupcake took place on July 19 at the Bridgeville Public Library. The event was organized by the town of Bridgeville and assisted by the Bridgeville Public Library and saw dozens of people come out and enjoy a good time. State Police Announce Dates for Fall Citizens Police Academy in Kent County

Woman charged with carrying concealed gun during traffic stop in Newark
A Wilmington woman was arrested after police found a handgun in her car during a traffic stop in Newark, authorities said. The incident happened just after 4 p.m. July 24 on East Chestnut Hill Road, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department. An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and, while speaking to the driver, learned there was a gun in the vehicle. The officer searched the vehicle and found a handgun concealed under the driver's seat. The driver, 26-year-old Summerit Davis, was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, along with traffic offenses. She was released on $2,600 unsecured bail.

The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will officially kick off on Friday night, and a pair of current Notre Dame men’s swimmers will compete: rising senior Chris Guiliano (Douglassville, Pa.) and rising graduate student Tyler Christianson (Easton, Md.). 3 Injured in Route 1 Crash North of Lewes
A vehicle crash just after 9 Friday morning sent three people to area hospitals. Delaware State Police say a Volkswagen SUV driven by a 21 year old Rehoboth Beach woman was in the crossover at Route 1 and Minos Conaway Road when the driver pulled into the path of a southbound Ford Ranger – the Ranger, driven by a 24 year old Milford man, collided with the passenger side of the SUV. Neither driver was injured, but two 6 year old children in the SUV were flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the Ranger – a 20 year old man was transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
