New sign honors Choptank Indian Reservation in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE — Members of the Nause-Waiwash Band of Indians gathered with state officials to unveil a historical sign honoring the Choptank Indian Reservation and the indigenous ancestors who lived along the Choptank River. The sign was placed through the Maryland Roadside Historical Markers program, which is managed, in part, by the Maryland Department of Transportation. Pedestrian Stop Leads to Two Warrant Arrests in Laurel
LAUREL, DE - Two Sussex County men with warrants were arrested following a pedestrian stop in Laurel on Friday. On July 19th, at approximately 3:50pm, Laurel Police say an officer was patrolling the Hollybrook Apartment Complex on Pasture Lane. While patrolling, the officer saw two wanted subjects walking out of the complex and heading towards Discount Land Road. After confirming the two subjects and their warrants, the officer conducted a pedestrian stop at the corner of Discount Land Road and Seaford Road.
M&T gives $5,000 grant to Rehoboth Art League
M&T Charitable Foundation gave a $5,000 grant to Rehoboth Art League in support of its visual arts outreach program. Through the outreach program, RAL brings arts experiences to Sussex County residents in areas most in need of opportunity. Developed in response to cuts made to arts education in public schools, the program now serves hundreds of students each year. During scheduled classes, art league instructors travel all over southern Delaware to work with children, seniors and other at-risk populations to offer free arts education. Scheduled classes allow participants a chance to create a variety of different fine art or craft projects in mediums including drawing, painting, collage, pottery, printmaking, jewelry making or textile work.
