Nelson swam personal best times at midseason as a freshman with Pitt and would have been the 2nd fastest 200 backstroker for Miami this past season. Jensen Nelson has announced he will transfer to Miami-OH for the upcoming school year after spending his freshman season with Pitt. Nelson’s transfer follows former Pitt associate head coach Samantha Pitter who was hired as the next head coach of Miami-OH earlier this month.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Luis Ortiz pitched seven shutout innings, Oneil Cruz had a home run and three RBIs, and the Pittsburgh Pirates stretched their winning streak to six games with a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night. Ortiz (5-2), who had not gone more than six innings this season, gave up three hits and two walks with two strikeouts to lower his ERA to 2.57. “Obviously, it feels good to go out there and throw seven scoreless, but it’s just an inning-by-inning thing that I’ve prepared my mind for,” Ortiz said. “To go out there every inning, first pitch to be aggressive and attack the strike zone. The results are there.” Andrew McCutchen led off the sixth inning by hitting a 3-1 sinker from Cristopher Sánchez (7-5) 431 feet into the bullpen in left-center field. Nick Gonzales, who hit the winning RBI single in the ninth inning of an 8-7 win Friday night, got on with a two-out single and scored on Cruz’s double off the wall in right.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The city of Pittsburgh honored a local legend on Saturday.Gus Kalaris of Gus and Yayia's Ice Ball Cart died earlier this month at the age of 92.Several people and city officials gathered to celebrate his legacy at Allegheny Commons Park.Mayor Ed Gainey says Gus' memory goes well beyond his product."It's hard to replace a legend, Mayor Gainey said, "but it's really not about the product that they serve that makes them. It's the love that they pour out. The one thing that people will tell you about Gus is that when they came here, he made them feel special."The mayor says city officials already have plans to name a street after Gus in Allegheny Commons Park so his kindness will live on forever.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - A Puerto Rican man was arrested in Clarksburg after failing to report to a halfway house Friday. The U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, along with the Clarksburg Police Department and the West Virginia Department of Corrections, arrested Edgardo Quinones-Hiraldo, 35, at a home on Hart Street.
