Wells Fargo: $525 Bonus for New Savings Account (in-branch, no direct deposit required)
Wells Fargo has extended a good promotion for new savings account customers. This offer is available in-branch only and gives a $525 bonus when depositing $25,000 and then maintaining that balance for 61 days. This is obviously a significant deposit requirement for many and there is some loss of interest on those funds while they are deposited in the savings account (more details below). That said, it could be an appealing option for those who can swing it.

Ahead of its field days September 10-11 at Prosper, North Dakota, Peterson Farms Seed hosted a ‘Sneak-Peek Media Tour’ this past week. PFS owner Carl Peterson highlighted the company’s investment in research and innovation. Details were also offered about a major construction project happening in Kindred, North Dakota. “We’ve been involved in identity-preserved crops for quite a while,” said Peterson. “The industry is geared toward huge volumes of non-differentiated products such as crush plants, ethanol plants, and export trains. That creates a niche for somebody who wants something a little different like a high-oil soybean or high-fiber wheat. We know we’re very connected to the genetic people, we have good contacts with industry people and we can fill the middle.” The Kindred site will be a trans-loading facility to serve the IP market.

SANFORD DROPS FROM HUMANA SENIOR PLAN
(Bemidji, MN) — Sanford Health says it is dropping out of the network for Medicare Advantage plans from Humana. Sanford says the Kentucky-based health insurer continually delays patient care and denies coverage for services. According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, nearly 10,000 patients in Minnesota are being notified that the change will take effect next year. Humana is one of the nation’s largest operators of Medicare Advantage health plans where seniors elect to receive their government health care benefits through a private managed care company. Sanford Health has significant operations in western and northern Minnesota including hospitals in Bemidji, Thief River Falls and Worthington.
